Nourish to Thrive is located in Central California. Tanya Pennington-Miller is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) specializing in blood sugar stabilization and optimal wellness through holistic nutrition and lifestyle.

What is nutritional therapy?

Nutritional therapy is a science-based, holistic approach to wellness that considers digestion, blood sugar balance, mineral balance, fatty acid balance, and hydration as foundations of optimal health. Using real food as medicine, nutritional therapy focuses on the proper absorption of nutrients from our food as the key to gaining vitality and wellness. Holistic, or “functional” nutrition, aims to balance the body by addressing the root causes of chronic problems that can prevent weight loss, corrupt energy levels, and keep us from being our healthiest most optimal selves. When prepared properly and in the right balance, whole, nutrient dense food has immense potential to change the way that we look and feel.

How would nutritional therapy help me?

Nutritional therapy is a means of reaching optimal health by taking a systemic approach to your wellness. Rather than taking a “one size fits all” approach to your health, I look at you as a whole person with unique needs and customize a plan to fit those needs. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, increase your energy, achieve better sleep, overcome sugar and other cravings, learn healthier eating habits, or address specific health concerns that continue to interrupt your life despite multiple doctor visits, nutritional therapy can help

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Nutritional Therapy Appointments

Session One (90 minutes):

  • Fill out Initial Interview Questionnaire prior to appointment
  • Fill out Food & Mood Journal for three days prior to appointment
  • Initial interview takes place so that I get to know your needs
  • Review Food & Mood Journal together
  • Discuss and get clarification on all of your goals
  • Leave with at least three nutritional and lifestyle steps to begin working toward your goals

Session Two (one week later; 90 minutes):

  • Complete online Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire prior to appointment
  • Review your new Food & Mood Journal together
  • Discuss Nutri-Q reports together
  • Begin Functional Evaluation
  • Lingual Neuro Testing for specific supplements
  • Leave with a specific supplement protocol based on results
  • Leave with another actionable step to continue working toward your goals

Session Three (two weeks later; 90 minutes):

  • Discuss the last two weeks (nutrition, supplements, lifestyle interventions, etc.)
  • Review your new Food & Mood journal together
  • Continue Functional Evaluation
  • Lingual Neuro Testing for specific supplements
  • Leave with a specific supplement protocol based on results
  • Leave with more nutritional and lifestyle steps to continue working toward your goals

After this first series of three appointments in the first month, we will back off to meeting two times per month for the following three months and then one time per month for the remaining months.
